Hilde Marie Kjersem is a vocalist, songwriter, composer and musician of rare calibre. The 22 year old made her debut with “The Red Shoe Diary” (Curling legs) in 2004, all her own composition. The media response spawned new opportunities and the basis for high hopes for the future. The coverage also resulted in some key festival slots for her Tub Quartet and they were very well received at Kongsberg Jazzfestival, by:Larm, Dølajazz, Vossajazz, Maijazz and Moldejazz, as well as Oslo club bookings at venues such as Blå, Rockefeller and Herr Nilsen. In 2005 follow up “Twelve O’clock Tales” was released featuring Jon Eberson and in the Summer of 2008 came “A Killer For That Ache” on the highly respected Rune Grammofon label, to rapturous applause. Live reviews have been equally favourable including a 6/6 from Aftenposten (Norwegian equivalent of The Times) and 5/6 from key daily Dagbladet the last time she played by:Larm. Her new album will be release in March 2011.
