Alongside his day job in bands The Alexandria Quartet and Bloody Beach, Chris Holm has been cooking up a solo project. When his solo track “When I Die” was NRK Urørt (NRK equivalent of BBC Introducing) track of the week in May 2010, he hastily put a band together and got things moving. After two sold out hometown shows in Bergen, Chris and his band are ready for more. Chris’s music is derived from a variety of influences – but chiefly his twin loves of french pop and hip-hop mixed up with Chicago sounds – the result being tunes that don’t sound like any of their component parts, but definitely deliver the good-time vibes. Overheard at a Chris Holm show: “Doesn’t he have a production company with one of the guys who produced Notorious BIG?” (Boy, 27) “Is he singing about drugs?” (Girl, 21) “No effect pedals for his guitar?” (Man, 43)
