Tromsø natives Pristine were the winners of the prestigious Union Blues Cup at Notodden Blues Festival this past year (a key event in the genre) and as such hold the title of Union Blues Band 2011. This talented group, with their charismatic frontwoman Heidi Solheim delivered a solid show, earning plaudits from both the public and the judges during the final, which was held on the main stage at the festival. All still the right side of 30, Pristine are a band who play with power, passion and intensity. The band formed in 2006 and are based around vocalist and front figure Heidi and alongside her are a talented troupe of Northern Norwegian musicians who also play with the likes of Adjagas, Badger, Ska Patrol, Kaja Bremnes and Tromsø Storband. Pristine’s music has strong roots in blues and 70s rock. In addition to traditional blues sounds, Prisine also draw on inspiration from the likes of The Faces, Grand Funk Railroad, Zeppelin and AC/DC.
