Friska Viljor began life after both member’s respective relationships went down the pan. As everyone well knows a broken heart is a fantastic catalyst for artistic output, and two albums later the band are ready for a new start with their aptly titled third L.P. “For New Beginnings”. Of course their tunes are still what you’d call sing-along indie anthems, but there’s now a move towards some slightly more serious subject matter and an added depth to their sound with perhaps a little less emphasis on euphoric choruses. In 2010 the band won Jägermeister’s Rock:Liga, beating off competition from the likes of Crystal Castles, Metronomy and The Whip and on the back of that have built up a strong following in Germany.
