Djerv are a new band comprised of Agnete Kjølsrud from Animal Alpha, Erlend Gjerde of Stonegard and Stian Kårstad from Trelldom. They came together after their old bands were put on ice almost two years ago. Djerv put their first demo up on myspace early in 2009 to a rapturous response amongst others Metalhammer in the UK noted them as ones to watch for 2010 and Zillo Magazine in Germany made them demo of the month. Festival interest soon followed, with shows this past summer at Raumarock, Fjellparken, Malakoff, Jorddunst and Øya with Djerv also being invited to join Øya’s first Øya Open tour. In August the band released “Headstone EP” on their own label Katapult Music. Originally envisaged as a demo, but the 3 tracks are now available digitally. Live the band are complemented by Stamos Koliousis on guitar and Victor Brandt of Entombed, Totalt Jævla Mørker and previously Satyricon on bass. The band are currently writing their debut album, slated for release in Febuary / March 2011.
