After Ida Jenshus released her debut album in Autumn 2008, she was crowned Norway’s new country queen. The record was well received by the critics and public alike, went gold and was nominated for a Spellemann gong in the country category. Throughout Summer 2009, Ida was one of the country’s most coveted festival acts and in Autumn 2010 her follow up entitled “No Guarantees”. The critics did not hold back. Aftenposten (Norwegian equivalent of The Times) awarded the record 6/6 and wrote “Ida Jenshus has taken Norwegian country music to a whole new level. Even though this is most definitely a Norwegian record, it is one of international caliber.” Whilst Dagbladet’s Fredrik Wanderup posed the rhetorical question “Is Ida Jenshus our new first lady?” awarding the record 5/6.
