Two sisters from Helsinki, though seemingly from another planet, LCMDF are a band with a higher smash hits quotient than even Neneh Cherry playing her trump card. Their succinct, giddy, angular hooks are like an Ace Of Base best of that has been left out in the sun way too long. In an era when the pop world is a colder than it has been for perhaps fifty years, the gifted Kemppainens sisters Emma (22) and Mia (20), are here to remind us all that although “cool” is all well and good, “outrageously fun” is always going to be best. Their first single “Something Golden” was proclaimed single of the month by both The NME and The Guardian. Towards the end of 2010 the girls are preparing their first long player, entitled “Love and Nature”, which will come out on the legendary Heavenly label. The band are perhaps recognizable from their former guise as 2008s most shambolic electro upstarts Le Corps Mince De Francoise. But with a refinement of both the name and the line up, the masks are gone and the vibe-o-meter has been turned up to eleven.
