Dyst are a young band who’re ready to take the step up from a decidedly grey local scene and venture out into greener pastures. The band sit at the harder end of the rock spectrum, but unlike many of their peers Dyst are focused more on the melodic than the distorted. In February 2010 the band released the single “Do you miss Any Bricks” and toured Norway alongside a hardcore band from The Netherlands. This was followed by a bunch of summer festivals including 5071 – Alle til Loddefjord playing alongside the likes of John Olav Nilsen, Datarock, Fjorden Baby, Audrey Horne etc. With the boys average age being just 17, the band are surely in for a bright future. “We can finish up be recommending in the strongest possible terms DYST, young, raw and awesome, something for anyone into hardcore.” – Fjellparken Festival website “It’s like the best bits of Converge’s melodic side put in a blender” metalreviews.com
