Tassaili play “camel-jazz” a mixture of Moroccan and Western modern music, the band being comprised of Moroccan born Aissa Tobi and Norwegian Ketil Kielland Lund. Last year’s album debut “Lathebkish” (Talik) received some fantastic reviews and the band have always lived up to their reputation as a dance floor friendly, great festival band. Amongst their repertoire are tunes with their roots in Aldalusian, Arabic, Berber and Jewish amongst other local folk variants that can be found side by side in Morocco today. Always out front is vocalist Aissa Tobi with his instruments always strung in the appropriate manner, be that with steel, nylon or gut. Aissa Tobi sings, as well as playing the violin, luthar, sintir, gargabb and banjo whilst Ketil Kielland Lund on flugelhorn, accordian and backing vocals will be joined for their by:Larm show by Abderrahime Tobi (vox / perk), Kenneth Ekornes (drums), Luis Landa Schreitt (perk) and Endre Hareide (bass).
