Hailing from the obscure outskirts of Bergen, Norway, 82-model Henning Severud has been producing music under his Telephones-moniker since 2006. His music and DJ-sets combine an eclectic array of influences from disco, italo, house, new wave, kraut, cosmic and punkfunk, steadily piloting the shuttle between cold European synthetics and warm analogue, often tropical sounds. Telephones can be found within the same solar system as fellow vikings Prins Thomas, Diskjokke, Lindstrøm and Todd Terje, but frequents the slightly filthier and and more edgy corners of cosmos, plagued by unpredictable asteroid belts and drifting, lost transmissions from the 80s. Being a multi-instrumentalist, Henning plays everything from guitars, drums and synth to percussion in his productions. Towards Winter Telephones will release his first 12" on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp-label, along with several remixes and new material in the making from his new found life as an exile in Berlin. Live Telephones features Henning’s friends Even Brenden/Chmmr (Luna Flicks) and Richard Nystad (Dominic) on synthesizer, sampler, effects, percussion and guitar, delivering a more organic, but still dancefloor-oriented take on his tracks.
